Fun Christmas Ornaments that double as gifts!

These building brick block ornaments are very similar to LEGOS. You get 6 ornaments filled with 6 different vehicle building sets containing 1 minifugure, and building instructions for each. Each set has anywhere from approx 50-70  pieces.

My box of building brick ornaments included the following sets:
*Airplane
*Police car
*Police Helicopter
*Race car
*Fire Truck
*Rescue Fire truck

Each one is nicely decorated with a bow so they look nice on a Christmas tree. I received 3 with a green bow and 3 with a red bow.


I really like how each one is clearly labeled on the tag which set is inside.

The instructions are pretty easy to understand and the blocks easy to assemble and like most building blocks can be difficult to take apart. 

Overall I'm impressed with these building brick Christmas ornaments. Right now they are $17.99 on Amazon for the box of 6 at about $3 each I feel they are definitely worth it. These would make a great Christmas gift for kids, stuffing stuffers, or even used in some Elf on The Shelf ideas.
I would like to note these are taped together but might need to add extra to keep them together better. Also the ornaments would be great to recycle into more ornaments next year or even a mold to make giant bath bombs.

I have been testing this Levoit Elora Natural Himalayan Crystal Salt Lamp: Stainless Steel Base, Touch Brightness Dimmable Control for over a week and I love it. I received this salt lamp from  Levoit Elora to test and give one away! For giveaway info scroll to bottom of page.

First, it came beautifully packaged in a red holographic box with easy to carry ribbon handles. Most salt lamps I have received come in standard packaging. This one would be great to give as a gift as is.

                                                    

It is also packaged with Styrofoam on top for protection and an easy to open plastic bag.

This salt lamp is very pretty on or off. It has a 6.5 FT cord. It also comes with an extra bulb. The dimmable switch is touch controlled. The touch control can take a couple of times to get used to. The lamp puts off a soft glow that makes a perfect night light. This does get a little warm but salt lamps do. It will also sweat some so its recommended to put a place mat under it. The stainless steel base is nice and different.  This lamp is easy to clean. Just take a damp cloth and gentle wipe. 

I personally love to sit and watch this lamp. I find it very relaxing to look at.

Our House: Deliciously Gluten-Free Mixes

Our House has launched a new line of gluten free mixes. There are 7 in all: All purpose flour, all purpose baking mix, chocolate brownie mix, cookie mix, cornbread mix, bread mix, and pancake & waffle mix. Not only are these mixes gluten free, but are vegan, kosher, and non GMO too.

I was sent the cookie mix and cornbread mix to try. Check out the recipes I used on down.  I have to say I was surprised. I couldn't tell a difference really in taste or texture compared to non gluten free and neither could my husband or daughter. To be honest I was expecting them to taste different or be gross since I've not ate gluten-free bread products before these. The mixes were really easy to use like most mixes are. I love the packaging. The boxes have an easy tear top. Each box comes with 2 different recipes that you can cut out and are easy to make. The boxes also include a kitchen tip and a Gluten-Free label that you can cut out.

The cornbread mix makes a sweet cornbread. One box of mix made 24 mini and 8 full size muffins. I used the recipe on the back of the box.

Ingredients:

• 1 box Our House Gluten-Free Cornbread Mix
• 1 ½ cups of milk (or milk alternative)
• 2/3 cup of oil
• 3 large eggs (or egg replacer or 1 cup of applesauce)
  
  Directions:
  
  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Grease a 9” square baking pan, muffin pan, or mini muffin pan. Be sure to grease pan good or they might stick.

     3. Add milk, oil, and eggs to cornbread mix; mix until smooth.
  
  1. 4. Pour batter into pan and bake 30-45 min, until done and golden brown for 9" square.  About 20 minutes for regular size muffins. About 10 minutes for mini muffins.
  Will make 16 squares in 9" pan, 24 regular muffins, or 48 mini muffins.
  **OPTIONAL: Add in 1 can of jalapeños and 1 can of whole kernel corn, drained, for a southwestern spin.
  
  

Gluten Free Peanut Butter Cookies

INGREDIENTS:

• 1 box Our House Gluten-Free Cookie Mix
• ½ cup butter
• 2 large eggs
• 1 cup peanut butter
  
  
  DIRECTIONS:
  
  1. Preheat oven to 350F.

  

  2. Mix together dry mix, butter, eggs and peanut butter in mixing bowl until well blended.

  
  
  
  

  1. 2. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough 2 inches apart onto lightly greased baking sheet.

  1. 3. Flatten each with a fork in a crisscross pattern.
  2. 4. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

  Will make approximately 20 cookies.
